What you need to know

My main responsibility is the day to day running of the news room within the Film, Media & Journalism in the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Stirling . I give students help with software problems within the newsroom, I also give them help with using the various software applications within the room. I also demonstrate how to use the equipment that will be used in the newsroom environment and throughout their course.

I maintain the department's computer resources and give advice to the software usage within the department and helping with the installing and rebuilding of the departments PCs/MACs. I am the first line support for any Computer/MAC related problems within the department. I also give staff help with the installation of software and the upgrading PCs or Macs. I am  one of the departmental Web Site Administrators and help staff with WebCt problems as they arise. I help with the daily issuing of equipment that is needed by the students on various departmental courses.


I work with two other technician helping out with various problems in the Film, Media & Journalism as and when they arise.
