A Visit To Settle Station

On the first day of my 5-day tour of railways 'south of the border' I was heading down to the Keithley & Worth Valley Railway, but as the route there took me to within a mile of Settle, I decided to stop off, stretch my legs, and get some pictures of the beautifully restored station there. It's so much better to see a station looked after properly instead of being reduced to two bare platforms with ugly bus shelters, as has happened so often.

And on the way in I couldn't help noticing that even the huge water tower at Settle has survived and will have a future, admittedly not performing it's original function! I only stayed a few minutes and didn't see a train but I did have a schedule of my own to keep...
