Tornado Leaving Fife For The First Time!

On 7th March 2009, after a weeks 'holiday' at Thornton yard in Fife, it was time for 60163 Tornado to head back over to Edinburgh to take over another railtour and head south again. And, aided by a new and much superior camcorder, I was able to film it that morning getting ready to depart from Thornton Yard and later at North Queensferry Station as it charged up onto the Forth Bridge!

And at Thornton Yard, it turned out that it wasn't alone...

Once I had filmed Tornado rolling slowly down Thornton Yard on it's way out to the main line, it was clearly time to get ahead of it, and the chosen place for my friends and I was North Queensferry Station, which give a good view of the north end of the Forth Bridge. And after a number of false alarms caused by Turbostars on scheduled passenger trains, we were rewarded by a light approaching the end of the tunnel, literally!
