Bus Travels!

Although I was very interested in buses in the late 1970s, particularily those in my local area, I didn't have a camera at the time and had lost interest somewhat by the time I did get one. Fast forward to the 1990s and I got interested in buses again, this time through preservation, and started to film them with the camcorder I had just bought, and would have taken lots of pictures as well had I been able to afford the developing! Later on, by the time I got as far as digital photography, things had moved on and almost all the types of bus still in service were types alien to me that I didn't find very interesting!

So what pictures do I have that would be worth adding to a section of my photo album dedicated to bus pictures? Well not pictures of the bus preservation projects I am involved - they are already to be found in vast amounts in the J-Files. And, for the reasons given above, I don't have too many recent pictures of buses in service, although there are some and I will happily add more if I catch up with something worth filming. So for now I am mainly forced to fall back on stills from camcorder footage I took years ago, which I admit aren't very good quality, but which show a lot of buses that are now mostly history!

Dunfermline Tramway Livery On Test!

On 31st October 2009, by sheer luck, I happened upon a specially re-painted bus on a test run in Methil. See a few pictures of Dunfermline Tramway Livery On Test!

Buses In Stirling In 1996

One of the longest sections of camcorder footage I took of buses in the 1990s doesn't play back all that well, but I have gone through it patiently and managed to capture exactly 100 (barely) viewable pictures of Buses In Stirling In 1996

Buses At Glasgow Buchanan St Bus Station In December 1993

The earliest surviving piece of camcorder footage I have dates from a raw day in December 1993 when I met up with friends in Glasow and spent a few minutes filming Buses At Glasgow Buchanan St Bus Station In December 1993

Balfron Garage In Early 1994

In the 1990s the smallest Midland (Scottish) bus garage still used by the then 'Midland Bluebird' was at Balfron, and as it happens I had never been there. So two friends of mine joined me for a bus trip to see Balfron Garage In Early 1994

Buses In Falkirk In Early 1994

On the same day in early 1994 that my friends and I visited Balfron (see above) we went on to use the rest of the day to see Buses In Falkirk In Early 1994

Tri-Axle Open Topper In Methil!

On 6th January 2010, not for the first time, I got stuck behind a bus in Methil. But, again not for the first time, it turned out to be a most interesting vehicle which I followed until it stopped. See some pictures of a Tri-Axle Open Topper In Methil!

PS 20149 In Alva On The '23!

On 14th July 2011, at the request of a friend (sort of), I filmed a bus going through my home town. So here are some captured pictures of PS 20149 In Alva On The '23!
