MPE29 - Previous History

MPE29 had a 31-year service career before reaching preservation, and I hope I can find the time to give details of it here. However, for now, you will have to be satisfied with the only picture I have available of it at work before I bought it.

1. Here is the only shot I currently have of AMS295B in the 1980s, taken after it's conversion to a Recovery vehicle in 1981. I don't know who took it as I bought it at a bus rally (if you know who let me know and I will credit it correctly), but I have examined the original print carefully and it has Kelvin Scottish branding together with the Midland fleet no ML301, suggesting 1985 or 1986. A friend has pointed out that it was taken near Buchanan Street bus station, which is a place it will have visited many times in the 1980s and early 1990s.
