MDE238/8/11

In 1995 I discovered a 1960s ex-BR Rapier crane at the back of a Dysart scrapyard. It had been bought by the scrapyard for their own use some years earlier but had failed at some point and had been left at the back. A friend of mine (hello Roy!) & I, assisted by others, bought it and transported it to Methil, where is has been restored into working order. These pages tell the (recent) story of MDE238/8/11 !

At The Scrapyard

I only have one useable picture of the Rapier taken before we moved it, principally due to it being blocked in by stacks of cars until the day of the move. Here is the picture of The Rapier In The Scrapyard.

Mobile Crane?

As usual, I had my camcorder along on the day we hired a semi-low loader to move the Rapier to Methil. here are the vsnaps of us Moving The Rapier To Methil

Rapier At Methil

Here are a few pictures taken of the Rapier At Methil.

Under Repair

The Rapier need a lot of work to get it into working order. here is a selection of pictures showing The Rapier Under Repair!  (section not ready yet so pic missing & link dead - sorry!)
