The 2009 Rally Season

Despite further problems with FPE88, and
even an 'on the road' problem with FRD187, both had passed their MOT by the time the
2009 rally season approached. And all through the 2009 rally season, the price of
diesel was actually LOWER than the year before, which was something of a relief!
In all during 2009 we attended ten events
comprising twelve weekend days at distances from our 'Preservation Corner' varying
from about 100 yards (Yes, yards!) up to well over sixty-five miles! We attended a
one-off private event and two other events we hadn't been to before (although one
of these was at Lathalmond which we know very well) and were only a 'no show' at
one event where we were worried about the possibility of the ground being too soft.
However, to start at the beginning,
in the second week of May we set out to go to our first rally of 2009...
Steam In The Park 2009
Old territory for FRD187 on our first rally outing of 2009 on the 9th & 10th May 2009,
but new territory for FPE88. However at first the weather threatened to ruin
Steam In The Park 2009.
The Lathalmond Running Day 2009
Not a new location as such, but technically a new event
for us. Alas FPE88 was out of action due to exhaust trouble, but we took FRD187 and got the
chance for it to do a run with real passengers early on in the day, albeit as a free service!
Alas I have no pictures of that due to having been on board, but I did take a fair number of
pictures of buses attending
The Lathalmond Running Day 2009.
The Borders Vintage Automobile Club's Annual Historic Motoring Extravaganza 2009
Our first rally in the borders, when we took FRD187 to
The Borders Vintage Automobile Club's Annual Historic Motoring
Extravaganza 2009.
The Tayside Classic Motor Show 2009
See a handful of pictures from a thundery day at Errol Airfield
when we attended

The SRPS Bo'ness Rally 2008
Back to another of our favourite places when we
attended
The SRPS Bo'ness Rally 2009.
The Leven Vet & Vintage Rally 2009
Our
'home' event again as we attended
The Leven Vet & Vintage Rally 2009.
The Unveiling Of TDE373
Unusually for us, we got an invitation this year to
bring our buses to a private (but busy) preservation event, and in attending set a record
we will surely never surpass for the shortest distance to an event! Find out why, and see
a good selection of pictures of the sunniest event of our year, by visiting
The Unveiling Of TDE373.
The Lathalmond Bus Rally 2009
The biggest rally in Scotland, and
thankfully not as wet as the weather forecast seemed to suggest it might
be! And as a bonus, A103OUG was able to make it's rally debut on the Sunday
of the
The Lathalmond Bus Rally 2009.
The FAVVO Ladybank Rally 2009
Another very wet day out, and thus
I have very few pictures from
Ladybank 2009.
Bridgeton 2009
As always, this was our last event
of the rally season. Like last year, we took FPE88 to
Bridgeton 2009,
although as always my pictures cover as many as possible of the other buses on display.
