Rallies & Events

My friends and I have been to a fair number of bus rallies and other vehicle events as both exhibitors and ordinary visitors over the years, but prior to the Bridgeton Open Day 2006 we had not technically taken any of our own preserved vehicles to such events. However we have made up for it since, and I have created this section of the J-Files for the pictures that prove it!

Due to the sheer number of events we have been to since 2006, and the likelihood of many more in the future, each year from 2007 onward has it's own index, only events we have taken one of our preserved vehicles to are covered, and for some events the pictures I have included on the 'proper' webpages concentrate primarily on the vehicle(s) we took to the event to the exclusion of much else. And it's still a daunting job setting these pages up as the captioning takes so lonnnnng! However in some cases I have provided a second webpage showing all the pictures I have, albeit without captions or very much in the way of explanation (it's amazing what I can set up in a few minutes using cut 'n' paste!).

  Straight Out Of Service!

Many preservationists would be a bit nervous about taking a well-used 29 year old Leyland Leopard bought a mere sixteen days earlier from Stagecoach Strathtay from Fife through to Glasgow and back to attend a bus rally, and truthfully so were we! However it's a distinctive way to make our rally debut as fully-fledged bus preservationists, as you can see in The Bridgeton Open Day 2006.

2007 - Our First Full Rally Season

For the first few events this year we had two buses on the road, but later on only one. And every event bar one was a new experience in some way or other in The 2007 Rally Season!

2008 - Events Old & New!

With FPE88 now fairly reliable, and FRD187 plodding on as always, we could attend any event we could afford the fuel for! And despite the cost, we attended more events than the year before in The 2008 Rally Season.

2009 - Same Old Routine?

The same two buses on the road, and we started our rally season at the same event, but every rally season is different! Follow our ambitious programme of events almost as soon as we attend them in The 2009 Rally Season.

Where To Next?

I'm truly terrible at keeping topical webpages up to date, but assuming I can muster the enthusiasm often enough, you should find a brief list of the events we plan to attend in the near future by going to The J-Files Events Calendar!
