Ghost Buffers?

With the August weather co-operating, we moved on from the re-paint of 26040s bodywork to working on the buffer beams, buffers, and the connectors and pipes attached to the buffer beams. And since, as usual, the first step was to clean up and primer all the metalwork, it all took on a ghostly gray appearance!

This is a very short page, featuring a few pictures from 22nd August 2003 of the newly primered bufferbeam, buffers, and fittings at the No 1 end. (I was so happy when we got it primered that I rushed to get a camera before we tackled the other end, which is why I have no pictures of that!)
