NEWS (28 December 2010): Below you will find information about all publications for 2010 and all publications scheduled for 2011. My 2011 publications include new books on education, democracy and citizenship (Learning Democracy in School and Society), and on the Learning Lives project (Improving Learning through the Lifecourse). In addition a number of translations of my 2010 book Good Education in an Age of Measurement will be published, and some further work on the theory and philosophy of education will be out later in 2011 or early in 2012. My new journal articles and bookchapters cover similar themes: education, democracy and citizenship; lifelong learning; the philosophy and methodology of educational research (including further contributions to the 'what works' discussion; and some new work on the theory and philosophy of education). The paperback edition of Good Education in an Age of Measurement has just appeared and is on its way from the warehouse, so should be available soon for order via amazon and directly from the publishers. I am looking forward to giving invited keynote presentations at the LSIS conference (Learning and Skills Improvement Service; March), the European Future of Teacher Education Conference (Vienna, March), the VELON conference (Dutch Society of Teacher Educators; March), AERA (New Orleans, April) and the EARLI conference (September). A quick word about me: I am Professor of Education at the University of Stirling, UK, where I co-direct our Laboratory for Educational Theory. I am editor-in-chief of Studies in Philosophy and Education. I write about the theory and philosophy of education, the methodology of educational research, and about education policy. I conduct research on such topics as lifelong learning, citizenship, democratic education, curriculum, and vocational education. I am President-Elect of the Philosophy of Education Society USA and have been awarded an International Francqui Professorship by the Francqui Foundation (for 2011).
