Spleen and interstitial kidney.
Type of lesion
Multifocal necrosis of all interstitial components of the kidney. Nephrons usually intact, but the lesions spread rapidly to become diffuse.
Special features
Diagnosis
Characteristic histopathology + isolation and characterization of IHNV. Differential diagnosis include VHS, toxic damage.
IHN affecting kidney of farmed rainbow trout.
Necrosis of interstitial tissue is apparent.
